Maggie Grace is an American actress born Margaret Grace Denig in 1983. Her most famous roles include Shannon Rutherford, a character from ABC's Lost series as well as Kim Mills from the Taken trilogy. Her parents had divorced and she relocated with her mother to Los Angeles. It was a struggle to get by when she got her first role in acting in Rachel's Room's leading character. The TV film Murder in Greenwich that she appeared in, where she played a 15-year-old Martha Moxley earned her the nomination for a Young Artist Award. She is a Gyllenhaal. She's the child of Stephen Gyllenhaal (director) and Naomi Achs (producer), she is a bit more senior that Jake Gyllenhaal. As a teenager she appeared in small roles in films made by her father. She also was co-starring with her sister in Donnie Darko which is a cult classic. She then appeared in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (both 2002) as well as Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal received praise from critics for her lead performances in Secretary (2002 the erotic romance drama) as well as Sherrybaby (606) and Sherrybaby (606) that earned their Golden Globe Award nods. She starred in numerous commercially successful movies including World Trade Center. However it was her performance in the role of Rachel Dawes that brought her more attention with The Dark Knight (2008).
